Coffee comes to use in a variety of ways, however all great coffee has great organisation behind it. Such is the case with our Popayan Cincueta. At ground level the coffee comes from a select group of 50 closely located farms, hailing from the namesake region of Popayan. We have added on the Cincuenta, which means 50 in Spanish.
Each shipment, however, will only consist of those lots which meet the specification we have agreed to at the Racafe Popayan Mill. Our hope here is to deliver a coffee that highlights the region of Popayan, yet is consistent throughout the harvest.
Diving into the cup, the first thing you will notice is that the Popayan Cincuenta is ‘big’. Flavor-wise you will be hit with epic notes of tropical fruits and more specifically grilled pineapple. Next up you will be confronted with the sheer juiciness and the silky beautiful texture of the coffee. Via the espresso machine, again the coffee is anything but small. It consistently is extracting at a high percentage and is utterly present in any blend we create.
